Do You Smoke Cigarettes on a Daily Basis?

You may be eligible to participate in a smoking discontinuation clinical trial conducted at study sites throughout Austin, Texas.

All trial-related visits, tests, and therapies will be provided to participants at no cost. In addition, compensation for time and/or travel may be provided.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Tobacco Smoker

Tobacco use is considered one of the leading causes of death in the United States.

The U.S Department of Health states nicotine cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 preventable deaths each year in the United States equates to almost 1 in every 5 preventable deaths.

If you are ready to quit smoking, you may qualify to participate in a trial evaluating the long-term effectiveness of various tobacco therapies at no cost to you.

YOU MAY QUALIFY IF YOU:

  • Are 25 years old or greater

  • Currently reside in Austin and anticipate to reside in Austin for the next 2 months
  • Currently smoke at least 5 cigarettes per day for the past 2 months
  • Can speak and read English

You will receive compensation for your participation in this study. Therapies and all tests and procedures required by the study are provided at no cost to you.

The purpose of this research study is to evaluate various cigarette smoking therapies and develop a preventative health program, targeting common health issues such as smoking tobacco, the leading cause of preventable death. This study is designed to gather insights into what are more effective modes of cigarette smoking therapies for our patient population.

Yes, all records of your inquiry and/or participation in this study will be held strictly confidential except when sharing the information is required by law. Your study records including confidential information about you collected during the study will be kept at a secure location.

You can withdraw from the study at any time. If you withdraw, it will not affect the standard of care you receive. There will be no penalty, and you will not lose any benefits that you would otherwise have.
